A Day in the life…
Steven CW Taylor “The Time Thief”
Ubuntu - (u-boon-tu) South African Philosophy
A shared humanity of empathy and love of self that extends to others.
I AM Because We Are!
Ubuntu Fine Art was birthed from the idea that the Hood deserves nice shit. Period.
I built this 1,300 square foot Germantown gallery with intention. Museum-quality lighting illuminates large-format photographs captured during my global travels. No inventory sits collecting dust - each piece created only when ordered, preserving resources and artistic integrity.
My background in systems engineering shaped this pioneering model. The gallery serves as hub for multiple revenue streams: made-to-order fine art, drop-shipped wearable art extending the Ubuntu message, and a versatile event space where community gathers.
Ubuntu – "a person is a person through other persons" (I am because we are) – drives every decision. This philosophy lives in the art, the business structure, and our relationship with Germantown.
I created this space to demonstrate how artistic vision and business acumen can serve community. The gallery stands as physical evidence that investment belongs where we live, not just where others visit.
Welcome to the gallery that the art world says shouldn't exist – but absolutely belongs.
